Palmer Museum Receives $100,000 Grant To Fund Art Collection Catalogue
The Henry Luce Foundation awarded The Palmer Museum of Art a $100,000 grant to produce a catalogue that will showcase its American art collection. This is the largest grant the museum has ever received from a private foundation.
“The Henry Luce Foundation only awards grants to art museums with exceptional holdings in American art,” Palmer director Erin Coe said in a release. “A grant from this prestigious foundation recognizes both the national significance of the Palmer’s collection of American art and the need to support scholarly research so the collection is more accessible and visible.”
This project allows Palmer’s collection to reach a national level and influence studies of American art. Students and community members will also be able to engage with the artwork in a new way.
The catalogue is expected to launch in 2022 to coincide with the museum’s 50th anniversary.
